Switzerland Book Launches 2006
Conspiracy of Calaspia will be launched in Switzerland in a special limited first edition (in English). Here begins the chance for some lucky readers to bag their copies of the book before those who pre-order on Amazon get their hands on theirs!
Even though we're talking about the
English-language first edition of
Conspiracy, and Switzerland being the German/French/Italian/Romance-speaking country that it is, there are enough venues for a panoply of appearances for the Twins.

OUTCOME OF LAUNCHES
Despite book delivery complications from the UK, thanks to the speedy intervention of Tara Press, the
Guptara Twins' Indian publisher, we did have books for the launches after all. They ended up being ARCs
(advance reading copies) - and were
hardback, which is most unusual for ARCs. Both launches of
Conspiracy of Calaspia in Switzerland were roaring successes, with between eighty and one hundred people
attending each event including members of the press.
Thanks goes to everyone who helped, especially the good people at Tara Press, for their tireless work at
a time of great need; Herr Max Vögeli, the mayor of Weinfelden; the Swiss Bundesamt für Kultur,
in particular Herr Marc Wehrlin; the exquisite cooks and team of King's Kurry; and Theodore Beale,
whose speech can be seen
here.
Andrew Rushton, manager, The Bookshop Orell Füssli, says that the launch of
Calaspia was the
biggest book event they have ever hosted. Thank you everyone for your support and encouragement!
